About Trek-

Gokarna, a temple town towards the western coast is said to be one of the 7 Hindu pilgrimages!!that was a decade ago !!!!!!well guess what? Its no more just a pilgrim spot, for pristine beaches have started attracting  tourists from all around the globe.Yet there are few beaches which are serene ,less crowded and flanked with small jungle patches best suited for a weekend getaway.

Surprisingly, unlike the usual beaches where one can expect only sand and water Gokarna is flanked with small jungle patches, rocky terrains and 2-3 small hamlets enroute the trail and is an hotspot for international tourists(mostly hippies) who visit the place for their part of fun round the year.

• Stop by beaches and boulders for a refreshing dip & bouldering experience
• Reach the camping spot covering all three beaches-  Paradise beach,Half moon beach,Om beach to reach Kudle beach .
• Camping in the evening , campfire fun, rest for the day.

Day 2-2nd December 2018

• Wake up- fresh up- 15 minutes walk to Sun rise view point, Glimpse of sunrise
• Have breakfast and depart towards bangalore.
• En-route visit Mirjhan fort.
• Have self sponsored lunch.
• Reach bangalore by or before 10pm with fun filled memories to cherish.

Its time!!!! For another 12 years have passed, to make way for the prodigious sighting of Neelkurinji blooms. A spectacular phenomenon that can be witnessed once every 12 years in the western ghats region of Kerala & few parts of Karnataka. The post monsoon  marks the onset of these Flowers at an altitude of 1500 mtrs & above and the green grasslands of Munnar looks bathed in tinge of blueish, purplish pink colors. Guidelines and Instructions for Kurinji Visitors by KFDC

1. Do not pluck the flowers or plant. They are an endangered endemic species and an integral part of the ecosystem. Any harm to even a single plant will impact the entire region at large.
2. Please understand that the plants will grow only above an altitude of 1500 meters and plucking them in hopes of growing them at home will be in vain.
3. The Kurinji plants are fire resistant and act as a natural protector to the grasslands from forest fires and also check soil erosion so please refrain from harming the plant.
4. If harmed the Kurinji will cease to exist not only denying future generations the sacred experience of witnessing its flowering but also irreparably damage the delicate balance of the environment.
5. The Neelakurinji flowering area is a STRICTLY NO PLASTIC ZONE. Please cooperate.
6. Do not forget, our Earth is our responsibility.

CELEBRATING NEW YEAR EVE AT OOTY CATHERIN FALLS TREK - 28th - 30th 2018

New Year Hungama - Catherin falls Trek With ATG - Registration ON

Welcoming New year 2019, fresh start, new opportunities and a whole lotta adventures around the year.

Kotagiri (Ooty range) is a hill-station in Tamilnadu nestled at a towering elevation of  5800 ft above MSL hosts various short & long duration trek trails.Trails leading to major attractions like the Catherine falls, Rangaswamy pillar, elk falls etc....

What you see above is a drone shot of the second highest double cascading  waterfalls in the Nilgiris of Tamilnadu.Dropping down from a height of approx 260 ft, the waterfalls attracts year round tourists and is a real time wildlife hot-spot.

The trail to the waterfalls and dolphin's nose view point takes us through high altitude tea plantation , shola forests and hamlets providing an undulating glimpse of the Nilgiris plantations, surely a much needed weekend escapade to celebrate New year's eve and restore our spirits from the monotonous city life.

Let's Go Kodachardri with Alpha Trekkateers Group - Filling Fast

KODACHADRI , the 10th highest peak in Karnataka is one of the well renowned  Natural Heritage Site. Receiving an annual rainfall of around 600- 700 cm the hill forms the background of  Mookambika temple in Kollur.

Crossing the breathtaking meadows, trifling lush green vegetation , ever green jungle thickets, numerous brooks & streams to reach this Holy Sanctum/temple/mantap of Aadhi Shankaracharya called Sarvajnyapeeta  where one gets to experience the true holiness of the place. The mantap located exactly at the peak gives a 360 degree view of  the surrounding. Though the sunrise is quite mind blowing from the peak, trekkers and tourists flock to kodachadri to witness the sunset which is an unbelievable event that takes place every day. We get to see TWO SUNS, rather the only sun and its reflection on the great Arabian sea coast thats visible from kodachadri. Truly a not to miss sighting it is.

Trekkers wind up their walk at Hindlumane waterfalls which is another wonder of the place.After few efforts of climbing down steep trails & edges and slithering down the tree roots we reach the waterfalls to cool ourselves and continue our journey through a beautiful village called Nagodi.

• Debriefing session , acquire entry permission from the forest dpt, start ascending.
• Reach the peak by noon , spend ample time , have packed lunch , start descending towards Hindlumane waterfalls,Play in the water, fresh-up and continue towards base camp via  green paddy fields in a small hamlet.
• Reach base camp , fresh-up, snacks, Campfire fun if situation is positive.
• Retire for the day.

Day 3- 13th May 2018

• Wake-up to see the blissful sunrise, Breakfast served, clean up & vacate the campsite, start towards Bangalore.
• On our way visit Nagara Fort & other tourist spot close-by.
