Nesteled amongst the deep thickets of Munnar forests in the "Gods own country Kerala" is this paradise called MEESAPULIMALAI at an altitude of 2650 mtrs or 8660 ft above MSL is the second highest peak in South India. Truly an enthralling trek destination, a must go trekkers paradise in summer .

Meesapulimalai is about 25 km from munnar and can be trekked from a village called kurangani. Tall pine trees wave to you from both sides of the trek trail followed by shola forests and open grasslamds and a no mans peak where u can feel and touch the rising cloud like mist almost throughout the day unlike other trekking destinations.

Destination-  Meesapulimalai trek- Munnar- Kerala
Trek trail - Kolukkumalai - Meesapulimalai
Dates -  28th April 2017  9 pm to 1st May 2017 6am 
Age -  from 13 age group- 50s
Difficulty -  Moderate to Difficult
Trek distance - 17km (13+4)km
Duration -  about 9 hours of trek for two days

Trek fee - 4650/-individual (the trek is one of the expensive due to the Kerala forest department fees, expensive stay and state road entry tax which are inevitable.)
Registration last date - 24th April 2017  till 6pm 
Food -  Basic veg food, non veg available on demand.
Transportation - Bangalore to Bangalore by non-AC private transport.Depending on team strength
Camping -  yes ( at an altitude of 8000ft in the wilderness).
Accommodation- Tented accommodation with sleeping bags. washroom available

Inclusive- Transportation(to and fro Bangalore), State road tax per individual, Food(basic veg food -2 breakfast, 1-lunch, 1-dinner), Accommodation( in basic TENTS),sleeping bags, Forest entry fee, GUIDE charges, Instructor charges.

 Things to backpack-
  • Sturdy backpack and trekking shoes
  • Least 2 ltr water bottle COMPULSORY
  • Umbrella or hats and poncho to protect from harsh sun and rain
  • Sunscreen and Torch compulsory
  • LUNCH BOX ,Spoon and Tumbler compulsory to be carried by every individual(ecofriendly)
  • Change of cloths, spare socks 
  • Insulation jackets,safety gears and lighters (Optional to the individual)
  • Personal medication, garbage bag,Id proof copy compulsory to be carried by every individual
  • Enough snacks and energy supplies to last for two days
  • Sufficient cash, Camera(Optional)

Tentative itinerary
 
-

28th April-
  • 9pm departure from bangalore, starting point bannerghatta road Decathlon
  • Pickups shall be fixed two days prior to the trek and the same shall be conveyed to the team
29th April-
  • 6am reach the foot hill, fresh up.
  • Have breakfast, packed lunch, permission from the forest dpt. 
  • by 7am start to trek.
  • By 4pm reach the camping site, fresh up , visit to the tea factory, 
  • By 8pm hot dinner served at the cliff of estate, Campfire, fun, stargazing at an height of 8000ft, rest for the day.
30th April-
  • 3.30am wakeup, freshup and start to trek towards meesapulimalai from campsite
  • reach the peak before sunrise and wait for the sunrise ,
  • photo sessions, spend some time , by 6.30am start descending towards campsite
  • 8am reach the campsite, have breakfast, and by 9am start descending towards foot hill.
  • reach the foot hills by 1.30pm, freshup ,have self sponsored lunch and start towards bangalore
  • if possible visit the close by waterfalls , spend time till evening, have self sponsored dinner  and start towards bangalore.
1st of May-
  • By or before 6am reach Bangalore.
General Note;- *We conduct treks to create awareness about nature and its protection, so its all our prime duty to protect the forests from being polluted. Its a humble request to all fellow trekkers to get their own non plastic utilities for trek and try minimizing the usage of plastics and use n throw materials.Even if plastics are used its our responsibility to carry them back to the civilization for proper disposal
*Confirmation of seats should be made by prior payment of trek amount to block your seats. Online transaction options are also available. Contact the instructor for the details.
Cancellation of participation any time after registration till before 7 days to trek date-50% cash refund shall be made.
Cancellation of participation before 3 days to trek date- 40% cash refund shall be made.
Cancellation of participation in the last 72 hours- no refund shall be made. 
*Transportation is in non AC push back buses depending on the strength of the team.
*Any kind of decision to be made is completely in the hands of the instructor,no appeals shall be entertained against the instructor's decision.
*Consumption of alcohol, other narcotics and smoking is strictly prohibited.Those found guilty will be penalized by the instructors.
*Miss behavior in words or action shall be considered as a crime and action shall be taken on the individual found guilt by the instructor.Instructor's decision is final.
*All the schedules and itinerary made are tentative, individual opinion shall not be entertained. We all are together in this as a team. Schedules and sometimes the trek destination itself can be changed due to  various factors.In that case the trek amount paid shall not be refunded  rather  ll  be carried over to the trek.if the individual is not interested to trek in the changed destination,refund shall not be made at last moment.
*Any extra unavoidable expenses not mentioned above but have very less chances of occurring shall  be shared equally by the team.
*Accommodations are in basic tents or in the place provided by the localities. Do not expect luxury( bathrooms,toilets, even a roof over your head sometimes) in trekking for its not a picnic.
*Toilets may or may not be  available for fresh up, but the team ll try its best to arrange facilities to fresh up. one should depend on nature for everything and anything during treks.
Weather condition in western ghats may drastically vary, so carry what is required for your safety from rain and sun.Pack light as possible with the items mentioned above:-) HAPPY AND SAFE TREKKING
