Kauravakunda is a less known yet an amazing weekend getaway destination located around 90km  from bangalore. This place in monsoon and post monsoon surely gives the feel of Switzerland for its chilling weather and a magnificent sunrise view from the peak. Mostly preferred for night treks, this venture is considered to be the best to witness sunrise and sunset.



However, as we proceed towards the summit, thousands of lights scattered across the terrain will make the arduous climb spectacularly worthwhile. Away from the usual city hustle, the bonfire accompanied by the star gazing with endless conversations with our friends will grant the peace and composure that we have been seeking.

As the sun rises, the magnanimous view of the village and neighboring hillocks are bound to take our breath away. Taking in the full spectrum of nature's sight, we ill explore the area and descend back to the base.



Ensure wearing shoes with good grip and comfortable dressing during the journey.

• 6am  continue ascending towards the peak , reach sunrise view point.
• 6.30 am view of sunrise,
• 7.40 am start descending
• 9pm fresh up at the historical Kaurava kunda pond

The majestic Bandaje Arabi Falls

Arabi falls is a breath taking cascade located in the charmadi ghat region of the western ghats. The waterfalls can be scaled only by trekking through the thick jungles and lush green grass lands with the help of govt guides.

The trail walk is one of the most adventurous trail to reach the waterfalls which is around 250ft high and its all worth the effort , camping at the edge beside the gushing waters or at the base camp & spending a night under the open star struck sky is a total bliss.

Travel distance - 350 km

 Distance covered - 18 km over 2 days

Difficulty -  Moderate

Age group - 12 to 50's

Tentative Itinerary- 

7th June - 

• 9pm departure from bangalore, meetup point and  enroute pickup points will be announced later.

8th June - 

• 7am reach the destination, Breakfast, packed lunch, start ascending.
• Reach the falls by 2pm,replenish ourselves in the chilling waters, have lunch,sunset view from the falls, camping and campfire fun under favorable conditions,cooking activity,hot dinner served, stargazing activity, rest for the night.

9th June - 

• Wake up , sunrise view, Fresh up , cook breakfast, start further ascending towards Ballalarayanadurga fort.
• By 11 am reach the fort,enroute ecology knowledge sharing session, and continue towards base camp.
• Reach base camp around 1 pm, board the bus, start towards bangalore,self sponsored lunch enroute.
• Reach bangalore by or before 10 pm.

Things to carry-

1. Sturdy backpack and trekking shoes
2. Least 2 ltr water bottle COMPULSORY
3. Umbrella or hats and poncho to protect from harsh sun and rain
4. Sunscreen and Torch compulsory
5. LUNCH BOX ,Spoon and Tumbler compulsory to be carried by every individual(ecofriendly)
6. Change of cloths, spare socks 
7. Insulation jackets,safety gears and lighters (Optional to the individual)
8. Personal medication, garbage bag,Id proof copy compulsory to be carried by every individual
9. Enough snacks and energy supplies to last for two days
10. Sufficient cash, Camera(Optional)
11. Sleeping bag or Quilt.
