Let's Go Kodachardri with Alpha Trekkateers Group - Filling Fast
At Kodachadri peak. ATG in 2016 March |
KODACHADRI , the 10th highest peak in Karnataka is one of the well renowned Natural Heritage Site. Receiving an annual rainfall of around 600- 700 cm the hill forms the background of Mookambika temple in Kollur.
Crossing the breathtaking meadows, trifling lush green vegetation , ever green jungle thickets, numerous brooks & streams to reach this Holy Sanctum/temple/mantap of Aadhi Shankaracharya called Sarvajnyapeeta where one gets to experience the true holiness of the place. The mantap located exactly at the peak gives a 360 degree view of the surrounding. Though the sunrise is quite mind blowing from the peak, trekkers and tourists flock to kodachadri to witness the sunset which is an unbelievable event that takes place every day. We get to see TWO SUNS, rather the only sun and its reflection on the great Arabian sea coast thats visible from kodachadri. Truly a not to miss sighting it is.

Trekkers wind up their walk at Hindlumane waterfalls which is another wonder of the place. After few efforts of climbing down steep trails & edges and slithering down the tree roots we reach the waterfalls to cool ourselves and continue our journey through a beautiful village called Nagodi.

It was my first trek and the experience was nice. I understood trekking isnot piece of cake :P Need lot of stamina and proper shoes especially! Thanks to Sharath and team for being co-operative because of whom I was able to successfully complete the trek! Also the other members in the trek were so wonderful ppl, it was quite a pleasure meeting all! The homeostay was really nice, comfocomfor rooms and nice food. I would like to add justjone note, please stick to the timings so that u dont have to hurry while trekking :P
ReplyDeleteTrekking has always been my passion and Alphites will remain very close to my heart for making me meet a bunch of people sharing the same passion. A little suggestion for the timing could be to keep the meeting place somewhere convenient for everybody. Like, it was super far for me(40kms) to come till Bannerghatta. But overall my trekking experience was positive with regards to stay and food and travel. Homestay is a highlight for me. Literally a home stay with all basic amenities. Thanks team
ReplyDeleteIt is always fun trekking with alphites. It was my 5th trekk with them and everytime the arrangements are done keeping every individual and every situation in mind which includes stay, food, facilities and first aid. Sharaths team helps each and every individual in all the possible ways. This time I got hurt, Sharath adopted the role of Dr :D. He did such a good job :P that Dr told me it has already started healing and there isnt any requirement of dressing. Thanks everyone for 1 more awesome trekk.
ReplyDeleteI am someone who treks a lot & have been a part of the Alpha Trekkateers before and it is no surprise that every time we trek, it’s always been one of the best experiences to me! This trek had so many components to it and each one of it was fulfilled with no congestions’. Not to forget, it was a complete worth of money as everything was accommodated right from travel, food, comfortable home stay, guides, experience & of course Sharath Raj himself who heads it all, a one man Army! I personally didn’t face any problems, it was very well organised and executed. Thanks to one all for making this experience so fun & ever lasting!❤️ Cheers to more treks with the ATG!
ReplyDeletetrekking at places like the beautiful kodachadri range brings out the best in people. And who else to enjoy it with other than friends, family and the awesome alphatreketeers trekking organizers. The trek includes a waterfall which will bring out the kid in you. And the white cloudy blanket claden peak will mark itself vividly in your memory. Thanks Sharath for this awesome experience.
